Cute and fuzzy and the size of a bear, giant space hamsters were first found amoung the gnomes. Many gnome ranches have them as cattle instead of cows and other domesticated animals.
Combat: Giant Space Hamsters normally have only one mode of attack – a nasty bite. They avoid even this on most occasions, as domestic breeds have been cowardly. However, wild breeds are more aggressive, and they briefly charge at anyone who approaches a burrow. They use their trample feat to knock the opponent down and get one attack before they run like hell away to safety.
Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, the giant space hamster must hit with its bite attack. If it gets a hold it can attempt to swallow the foe.
Swallow Whole (Ex): A giant space hamster can try to swallow a medium-size or smaller opponent by making a successful grapple check. The swallowed creature is stuffed in a cheek pouch and takes no damage whatsoever but is quickly covered in hamster spit. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using claws or a small or tiny slashing weapon to deal 2 points of damage to the cheek. In reflex the Hamster will spit the swallowed creature out. A successful strength-check will have the same result. Thier cheek pouches can hold much food (200 pounds).
In the Spheres The giant space hamsters can be found on gnomish sidewheelers, running within the sidewheels giving the appearence that the hamsters are method of motion for these ships. As with any other 'rodents' it only takes a few to start breeding and in the time the giant space hamsters have been in space more then a few have made it into the wild and breed like crazy!
