Moon dragons inhabit caves on moons. Their alignment although always evil, varies. The coloration of moon dragon's change every 30 days starting as white. Slowly the dragons scales change to black. This takes 15 days, then a small streak of silver appears on the dragon's side. Fifthteen days later it is white again. When the dragon is black it is choatic evil. When it is white it is lawful evil.

Combat: The moon dragon consider melee combat beneath them and will use its breathweapon, spells and other resources to defeat its meal.

Breath Weapon (Su): A moon dragon has one type of breath weapon, a cone of black frost. Besides causing cold damage the black frost also causes 2d10 impact damage and ebon slush hardens immediately. Those that fail to save verses the breath weapon are encased in a tomb of black ice 3 inches thick. The tomb of black ice has a hardness 2 (it is very magical) and 9 hit points, those trapped within require a strength check with a break DC of 12 to escape. As an added incentive to try to free oneself or others trapped in such black ice tomb is that those inside are likely to be suffocating unless they stated they held thier breath the round the moon dragon breathed on them, the DM can rule that a character has some air in his lungs at time the breath weapon went off can assign 1d4 plus Dex modifier (catching a quick gulp of air) rounds of air before suffocating. Rule for suffocation can be found of page 88 of the DMG.

Cold Subtype (Ex): Cold immunity, double damage from fire except n a successful save.

Lycanthrope control (Sp): When the moon dragon is all white, lycanthropes immediately change into were-form and must make a Will save at DC that is equal to its breath weapon DC. Those lycanthropes that fail thier save obey the moon dragon as if under a charm monster spell.

Power of Darkness (Ex): When a moon dragon is all black it gains +2 competence bonus to attacks, saves, and skill checks. Also it is also more difficult for other to save against its breath weapon and fear checks, increase the DC of each of these by 2.

Other Spell-like Abilities: 3/day—light, darkness, and daylight; 3/day— repulsion and reverse gravity.
