Brass space mines measure one foot in diameter and weight 55 pounds and are part magic and part technology. They can be set in orbit or fired from a typical heavy catapult. They serve on purpose, to destroy their intended target (as set by its creator or owner).
Combat: The brass mine has only one tactic, sense a designated target, typically a spelljamming helm, within 1,000 feet and move towards the target for impact and then detonate. The brass space mine will chase its target for 4 rounds, at the end of which it will then determine if it will continue pursuit or disengage target. It determines this fairly simply, if distance between target has been closing each round, the mine continues, if it been losing distance between target it disengages the target and moves back to its original position. Regardless of if it is slowly catching the target or not it will stop pursuit after 1 minute.
Construct: Immune to mind-influencing effects, poison, disease, and similar effect. Nor subject to critical hits, subdual damage, ability damage, energy drain, or death from massive damage.
Detonation (Ex): After impacting its target or upon its destruction, the brass space mine explodes for 3d6 points of fire damage in a 30 feet radius. Targets can make a Reflex save (DC 14) for half damage.
Hardness (Ex): A brass space mine has hardness rating of 8 that is applies to all attacks which hardness is functional against.
Advancement: Detonation and Impact damage both increase as the brass spacemines are made larger. Those brass space mines of tiny sized impact for 3d101 and detonate for 6d6 (DC 15). For those of small size the impact damage is 4d10 and detonate for 12d6 (DC 16).
In the Spheres Brass space mines have been used by nearly every nation in defense of their planet, moon or asteroids. Most brass space mines are set to move toward spelljamming helms, but some are set to move toward targets of a particular size (this can be useful in defending a port against very large space based creatures).

Notes on this Conversion: When making this conversion of the brass space mine, I decided on making it a construct as it has movement of its own. The impact damage was determined by the fact the orcish shot put, weight of only 15 pounds, is listed as 2d6 points of damage for its impact damage and I figured that a 55 pound object should do considerably more damage. Finally the speed is compatible with Spelljammer D20 as it should be able to run down a ship, if using the 2nd Edition scale of movement it has a speed of 9000 feet per minute.
Ron had some fun with this pic, if you noticed that two of the mines have writing on them, one states that "Thunk Wuz Here" and the other "Die Elf", he thought if the United States could put such on bombs we drop, he figured other would have done so as well (I had just finish running a scenario where the players being part of the EIN had to assault a planet held by orcs and goblins and passed thru a space minefield).
