Round 10:
Holland curses, "Damn, damn, damn!" With gritted teeth he says, "Italapate, it is an illusion, get some altitude!" Holland then says, "Raken, do what you can for the wounded."
Looking up from healing Leera, Raken nods negative. "Celestrian's blessings are gone. I have but a single spell left, and it's not one of healing. All I have left is herbs and a lot of luck."
Deigatt calls down to Italapate: "Comrade, har you strong enough to continue hat the helm hor do you need a replacement?"
Leera looks gratefully up at Raken before getting unsteadily to her feet. With some emotion in her voice she says in a sincere voice, "Thanks." She then looks down at herself, mutters something, and reverts from Glowing Skeleton Leera to her ordinary appearance.
Raken nods and helps her to her feet. "You know, a Glowing Skeleton tends to draw a lot of unwanted attention. You might consider an illusion that is less... dangerous."
Looking around, Leera assesses the situation. She calls out to Holland, "Holland! I've got a couple of spells left. You want to coordinate something?" She walks over to confer with her fellow mage.
Billy gets up from the deck, helping Jamilla up. "Come on, let's go!" he exclaims as he dashes to the catapult. Hoping that his helm vision also allows for "helm hearing", Billy yells to Italapate, "Holler if you need more help manning the ropes to maneuver!"
"Shukran Billy" Jamila replies turning to Seguld and helping him right himself the right way up and steadying him on his feet. "Feel like giving me a hand with the bastillae, Seguld?" Jamila asks as she rubs some of the blistering skin from her arms as she rises and makes her way to the siege weapon and begins reloading it.
Seguld spits on the ground, "Let'sgetmoving!!!" he cries out as he moves to the ballista and begins working on reloading.
"Raken! Anybody!" Kain cries, a hint of panic in his voice. "I've done all I can for Nilaroo," he continues loudly as he hurriedly takes off his shirt and packs it around Periander's arrow wound, "and he's still down. Periander.. I can't stop his bleeding either!"
Out of danger for the moment, Talus wipes the blood from his head and surveys the ship. Seeing how badly the sails are set, the young half-elf staggers to his feet and starts tending the lines.
Italapate urges the ship in a straight vertical climb, the STAR rises up like a levitating mage into the star-studded Shipwrecker sky.
As the ship pulls out Ferric stands with a bestial roar, his eyes blazing. Powerful muscles bulge as he begins working the lines on his side of the ship "Blast it! Talus, Deigatt get your gods-be-damned adventuring arses over there and work the sails. Hard to port!" Ferric mutters to himself in savage tones as the others take their places.
Grigree gets up off the ground where he fell while jumping between ships and looks around at the chaos on deck. He almost looses his balance when the ship jerks upwards towards the sky, but keeps his footing.
Round 11:
"I suggest we head hinto wildspace," Deigatt says. "Hit will be difficult for hany pursuers to follow hus though the turbulent hatmosphere, halthough these pirates har probably more used to hit than we har."
Leera Tells Holland, "I've got most of my spells still left. My COLOR SPRAY will probably be useless at this range, but my phantasmal force and improved phantasmal force spells should do some good. Unless you've got a better idea, I'm going to try another artful fireball if we end up in battle again. After that, it's either a barrage of artful missiles, or a scaaver. Whatd'a think?
Holland pulls his legs underneath him and slowly stands. Holland speaks quickly with Leera, the wand still in his hand, facing the cove. "I still have an improved phantasmal force in effect. I had thought to use it to disguise the STAR as a cloud or something but I can't make the spell large enough; nor do I think that combined we could cover the entire ship. As it is now, I have a 'wand of magic missiles'. I would recommend something similar for you," with a light tone and a wry smile he adds, "And try to stay conscious this time, eh?"
Billy starts loading the catapult. As he does so, he makes sure that his crossbow is comfortably slung across his back.
"I need help here! I'm no healer!" Kain yells. He kneels next to Periander, pressing his shirt against the bloody wound, and checks the wounded man's pulse. He heaves a sigh of relief, it's faint, but there.
Raken starts looking over the crew. "Damn, we took a beating. I'll be back in moment; I'm going to fetch my healer's bag." He runs downstairs to his chamber and grabs the bag from under his bunk.
Keeping a wary eye out for pursuit, Talus tends to the sails, trying the keep them set for the way Italapate sends the ship.
Italapate continues the straight rise, the ship lifting higher still as the island begins to grow smaller below them.
Jamila continues in her attempts to reload the ballistae, occasionally glancing up at those on deck to see how they are.
Seguld struggles as he works to reload the ballista, his leg still causing him to hobble about and struggle for balance.
Ferric continues to shout commands to the others working the sails. The ship turns to port, spinning slowly but like a top, as there is only upward, not forward motion.
Grigree yells, "Helm, turn us around, full speed. Loaders, get to weapons. We move in straight line, so half crew on lines. Rest help loaders and slow pursuit."
Round 12:
Deigatt continues working the sail lines.
Holland looks down on the shrinking cove, his weakly he says, "Raken, as soon as your are done with them, I could use some healing as well."
Raken returns with the bag in hand, rummaging through it to find a particular herb. "While I have no healing left, maybe I can ease your pain and prevent infection." He fishes out an herb and starts preparing it to put on their wounds as he kneels next to Kain and his two wounded charges.
Billy continues to load the catapult alone, struggling to haul the arm back inch by inch.
Kain watches for signs of pursuit as he takes his place on the lines after Raken arrives.
Leera calls out: "Full speed! A tight clockwise spiral up!"
Italapate continues the full climb. "I got it Deigatt!" he shouts in answer to the minotaur's question. "Billy, just make sure we don't have any unwelcome visitors."
Talus keeps tending the sails.
Seeing he and Jamila have finished loading the ballista, Seguld uses his arquebus as a crutch and lifts himself onto the step that was built for him. He looks down over railing and sees the SEA GHOST pulling out of the cave harbor below.
Jamila calls out to Holland, "Ajami Holland, wouldn't it be wise to let the Bral ship at Wreckers know of the pirates before departing this world?"
