PLANET TYPE: Mostly frozen spherical earth/water body
PLANET SIZE: D (900 mile diameter)
DAY LENGTH: 20 hours
YEAR LENGTH: 22 months
POPULATION ANALYSIS: 2000 - 4000 furchin (polar halflings); 1000 - 2000 dohwar; 1000 - 2000 yeti; plus small numbers of humans, gnomes (?), and dwarves (?)

Even prior to the dimming of the Sun, Rime was a cold place, and now it is doubly so - even during the times of its closest approaches, the temperature remains under 50~F; and most of the time it is well below freezing. Were it not for geothermal activity within the size `B' earthbody embedded in the planets mass, Rime would probably be utterly unihabitable. As it is, most life, land and otherwise, is concentrated along a coastal cleft extending halfway around the circumference of the earthbody.

Those parts of Rimes land area not permanently covered in ice sport a wide assortment of grass, flowers, and other vegetation, which in turn is grazed upon by an assortment of herd animals (and various species of rodentia as well). These herd animals form a major staple of the locals diet (halflings and dohwar alike). Rimes mostly frozen ocean is home to fish, eels, and seals, plus a few huge squid like monstrosities.

Barter Point:

Created by the Invaders as a base of operations, Barter Point has since become a place where Invaders, dohwar, and halflings come to trade. It consists of a long ragged line of crude stone and sod structures extending along the sea shore.

Star Fall Crater:

Located well inland, this is a crater about a hundred miles across. Within this crater, the temperature is much warmer than elsewhere on this world - about 50~F year round instead of just during the summer. Found here is a small coniferous forest - the Frostwood, as well as three pleasant lakes. All of this is because of the Star - a great glowing crystal set atop a low hill at the craters center, providing the whole of the basin with light and heat. This crystal actually is a star, wrested from its place on the crystal shell of the sphere and brought here by the Lightbringers. The crater is home to a large tribe of furchin halflings, who have begun to take up agriculture in the hundred years since the stars arrival.

Icepeaks:

This range of rugged windswept mountains dominates much of the continents interior; to make matters even more interesting, some of its peaks are quasi active volcano's. The Icepeaks are said to be infested with savage monsters, including yeti and remorhaz.

Hardion:

Little more than a rumor, this is supposed to be a long lost gnomish or dwarven `city' of some sort deep beneath the Icepeaks. No two rumors agree on anything concerning Hardion; many think it a mere fable.

Black Barts Cave:

A notorious pirate in known space, Black Bart one day took one risk too many and wound up fleeing to this remote sphere with only a few of his most treasured possessions. His escape craft crashed on this world after clashing with an Invader patrol; before dying, Black Bart and his surviving crewmember (a renegade orc witchdoctor) hid their ill gotten gains in this cave.
