The Shou Lung wildspace junk community is made up of mostly retired adventurers and their families that can not assimilate back into the rigid government controlled society. They assembled their families, retainers and followers and set forth for the freedom of wildspace. They settled near the Rock of Bral, but because of the existing Shou community they decided to form their own. The community was started when they bought their first junk ships paid for by their adventuring money. When they have enough ships to they moved their families into the community. As the years pass their community grew and a few more people joined the community. They screen the new prospect to be sure they are not criminals because even with the community's love for freedom, they are also still loyal Shou citizens. There are some non-Shou that was allowed to join, but with the provision that all rules and laws must be followed and the person is not a criminal.
The community is lead by Xu Ping (hm LG F15) and have lead this community for the last 10 years. The Group elects their High Elder every year and can re-elect the same person if they believed he is still capable of leading the community. Xu Ping also acts as the High Admiral for the group's fleet of ships. He coordinates the movement of the fleet from the various farming asteroids and The Rock of Bral. Because of mutual defense pact with Bral, they are obligated to help in the defense of Bral and it's terretories. In return Bral is obligated to help defend the community if it is in danger. Xu Ping is an excellent wildspace tactician and have twarted many pirates and bandit attacks on the small community. They have captured a few of the pirates vessels and turned over the bandits to the proper officials.
A Council of Elders also helps in the decisions made on behalf of the community. There are twelve elders and they are choosen from the eldest of the community and the community's heroes. The council is convened on matters concerning the whole community, new members and accepting job offers. They prioritize which expenses, supplies, materials and tools are needed most to maximize the community's gains. They also has to approve members who joins or create an adventuring group. They also have to approve any negotiated settlements on foreign trades. Some of the members of the council are Mother Sian (hf LG M3), Ann Lee (hf NG F10) and Sifu Xiao Ming (hm LG Mk20).
The Elder Scribe is Shao Shen (hf LN M10) and she is responsible for all the record keeping in the community. She is responsible for correspondence with the Bral's Shou community and any members who are outside the group. She is also responsible for the timely arrival of supplies from Bral and other ports to the community. She and a group of people would travel to Bral to sell the group's small cottage industry products, as well as to shop for items needed by the community.
"Have you had tea yet?" They served Pale Jade and Dragon's Eye tea both are green tea from Shou Lung. The community's staple consist mostly of rice, vegetables, legumes, nuts, fruits and tea. When the price is right fish, seafood, meats, poultry, beer and wine also shows up on the families dining table. The majority of the rice, legumes, nuts, fruits and vegetables are bartered from the asteroids farm in exchange for farm work. Spices and other staples are brought from Bral. When a hunting group catches any edible wildspace animal or gathered any food from the surrounding asteroids, the food is shared between the community.
There are 30 Junk ships, 1 Dragon Ship, 2 Tradesman and 1 Eelship in the fleet. They are armed, rigged, helmed and crewed in mixed fashion. The junks are mostly owned by the family living on them. Some of the junks are co-owned by the whole community and these special junks are maintained and crewed by the community as a whole.
